Gene Schafer MA, ATC, CSCS
GENE SCHAFER is an NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer and holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist card through the NSCA. He is also certified in First Aid and CPR with AED. Gene also served as an Examiner for the Board of Certification for athletic trainers.
Gene has garnered a vast knowledge and an acute awareness of the human body from his over 20 years athletic training experience. He will help you obtain and maintain the fitness and wellness levels you seek.
Meg Tyner PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS
DR. MEG TYNER received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York University. She received her bachelor’s of science degree in athletic training from The George Washington University, where she also was a four year starter on the division I Women’s Varsity Tennis Team. In 2013 Meg became an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, specializing in injury prevention exercise, functional movement, athletic development, and weight loss.
Throughout Dr. Meg Tyner’s career as a personal trainer, Certified Athletic Trainer, and Doctor of Physical Therapy Meg has gained experience working with a variety of musculoskeletal disorders and has special interest in sports rehabilitation, performance training, youth athletic development, manual therapy, and post-operative rehabilitation.
Joel Guzman ATC, CES
JOEL GUZMAN has been certified by the state of New York in 2014 to provide athletic trainer services to athletes. He earned his Masters of Science degree from Long Island University Brooklyn. Mr. Guzman has provided athletic training services in a variety of settings, including Division I colleges, out-patient physical therapy clinics, youth and professional sports.
Joel’s role as head performance and speed coach is to provide a challenging, educational, and most importantly, a fun environment for kids to be a part of as they grow. In his downtime, he looks forward to reading articles published by other medical professionals to further increase his learning and understanding of new techniques and best practices in athletic training, strength and conditioning and sports performance, to have when the need arise.
TIM WIENCLAW is a NY State certified Physical and Health Education Teacher at Long Island City High School, as well as the head varsity Football and Boys Lacrosse Coach. He is a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and The Academy of Applied Personal Training Education. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Rhode Island in exercise science and education.
Tim was a four year starter and senior captain on the Division 1 Football team at the University of Rhode Island, where he also spent 400 intern hours in the strength and conditioning center. He specializes in strength and conditioning, and building overall athleticism in relation to sports performance.
