Gene Schafer is an NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer and holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist card through the NSCA. Gene has been an athletic trainer at the high school level, worked as a manager at AthletiCo Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy in Chicago, and was  a personal trainer for Plus One at Goldman Sachs for five years.  After working for five years as an athletic trainer for the Columbia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education, Gene decided to start his own practice.  Gene has garnered a vast knowledge and an acute awareness of the human body from his over 15 years athletic training experience.  He will help you obtain and maintain the fitness and wellness levels you seek. 

Gene is currently working with Columbia University as an athletic trainer with their club sports teams such as men's rugby, women's rugby and men's lacrosse. Gene is an American Red Cross First Aid and CPR instructor with AED and an Examiner for the NATABOC certifying exam for athletic trainers.
Gene himself is no stranger to athletic accomplishment. He has completed multiple marathons, including The ING New York City Marathon. Gene earned two undergraduate degrees from Purdue University (Athletic Training and Health Education) and holds a masters degree from Columbia University's Teachers College in Physical Education. Gene currently serves as the Past - President of Purdue Club of New York City.
